光的传播时间

“遥远星光问题”有时候会被用作反对圣经创造论的论据。那些相信(宇宙有)数十亿年历史的人通常认为那些最遥远星系的星光是不可能在仅仅6000年的时间 内达到地球的。

然而,用“光的传播时间”来否定圣经,并不能证明亿万年的大爆炸就是正确的,因为大爆炸模型同样要面对一个光的传播时间问题

 

事件背景

在1964-1965年间,彭齐亚斯(Penzias)和威尔逊(Wilson)发现地球浸润在一个微弱的微波辐射场中,而这种微波辐射很显然是来自宇宙中可观测到的最远领域。彭齐亚斯和威尔逊因这项发现在1978年获得诺贝尔物理学奖。1 这个宇宙微波背景辐射来自空间的各个方向,并具有一个特征温度。2,3 宇宙微波背景辐射被称为是大爆炸模型做出的一个成功的预测,4 但实际上它是大爆炸模型遇到的一个障碍。因着宇宙微波背景辐射高度统一的温度,大爆炸理论的宇宙起源模型面临着光的传播时间的问题。

 

难题

宇宙微波背景辐射的温度在任何一个地方、5 任何一个方向上6 都完全一致(精度达到10万分之一)。然而,(根据大爆炸理论家的说法),在早期的宇宙中,由于空间不同地方的初始条件存在随机性差异,宇宙微波背景辐射7 的温度在空间的不同地方会大不相同。如果这些不同区域彼此紧密连接,它们的温度会逐渐趋于一致,而相距较远的区域则通过辐射换热(即:光8)使温度趋于平衡。辐射会不断把能量从温度较高的地方带到温度相对较低的地方,直到它们达到相同的温度为止。

大爆炸时期的A点和B点

(1)在所谓的宇宙大爆炸早期,点A和点B在开始时具有不同的温度。

(2)今天,点A和点B具有相同的温度,但事实上这两点之间并没有足够的时间来交换光(能量)。

现在的问题是:即便大爆炸所假设的时间尺度是成立的,也仍然不足以让光线传播到空间中相距甚远的不同区域。那么,如果现有的宇宙微波背景辐射场的不同区域之间未曾有光线往来,他们的温度如今怎会如此精确地相同呢?9 这就是一个“光的传播时间”问题。10

大爆炸模型认为宇宙已存在有数十亿年之久。虽然这个时间尺度能让光有足够时间从遥远星系传播到达地球,但却没有足够的时间让光从可观测宇宙的一边传播到另外一边。光发出的时候(被认为是大爆炸后的30万年),在一个比光能传播的距离至少大10倍的范围内(称为“视界”)11,其空间的温度已经趋于一致。所以问题是:这些空间怎么会看起来是一样的(即温度相同)呢?如果没有足够时间进行信息交换,可观测宇宙的一边怎样“知道”另一边的情况呢?这叫做“视界问题”12。尽管世俗天文学家们对这一难题提出了很多解决方法,目前还没有任何一个是令人满意的。(请参看下面关于解决宇宙大爆炸“光传播时间”问题的方法)

 

总结

大爆炸理论要求可观测宇宙中遥遥相对的区域间有辐射换热,因为在宇宙微波背景辐射分布图上它们有一样的温度。但问题是光并没有足够的时间可以传播这么远的 距离。圣经创造论者和宇宙大爆炸论者提出了许多方案来解决他们各自理论中面临的这个“光的传播时间”问题。所以,大爆炸论者不应该因创造论者提出各种可能 的方案假定来批评他们,因为他们在自己的理论模型中也做着同样的事情。对于大爆炸论的支持者,视界问题仍旧是一个棘手的难题,而从他们为了解决这个难题而 提出许多自相矛盾的猜想来看,也证实了这点。所以,大爆炸理论支持者们用光的传播时间作为论据来反对圣经创世论是不合逻辑的,因为他们自己的理论中也存在 同样的问题。

  

解决宇宙大爆炸“光的传播时间”难题的各种尝试

目前,最普遍的一种观点叫做“暴胀”,这是在1981年由阿兰∙古思(Alan Guth)提出的一个猜想。这一猜想认为:宇宙(即空间本身)的膨胀速率在大爆炸早期的“暴胀阶段”巨幅提升。宇宙空间的不同区域在暴胀发生后才快速分离(这个分离速度比光速还要快1),在这之前,它们紧紧相连并通过辐射换热达到相同的温度。根据暴胀模型的这一猜想,宇宙的那些遥远区域尽管今天相距甚远,在过去宇宙体积还是很小、暴胀还没有开始之前,它们是相联的。

然而,这个“暴胀”猜想还远不能得到证实。事实上有很多种不同的暴胀模型,每一种模型自身都有难以解决的问题。况且,现在科学家们对哪个暴胀模型是正确的 还未能达成一致意见。引起暴胀的物理机制仍是个未解之谜,尽管存在多种猜测。还有一个难题:暴胀一旦开始,它是如何停下来的?–即“从容退出”的问题。2另外,现在已知有很多暴胀模型是错误的–其所做的预测与观察结果不吻合3(比如古思理论的原型4)。而且,这些暴胀模型的很多方面目前还无法进行验证。

一些不接受膨胀模型的天文学家针对视界问题提出了其他可能的解决方法。这些方法包括:万有引力常数随时间变化的设想5;大碰撞模型(包括循环宇宙说)”6;光通过(假想中的)其他维度穿越捷径的设想;7 “无奇点”模型8,还有一些模型假设过去光速更快9,10(创造论者也指出,光速的改变或许可以解决圣经创世论中的光的传播时间难题11)。

鉴于上述的这些分歧,我们目前可以有把握地说:视界问题还没有一个明确的解决方法。
